About Bristol
Bristol is the largest city in the south west of England, with a population of approximately half a million. The city lies between Somerset and Gloucestershire and has been politically administered by both counties in part at various times. However, Bristol is historically a county in its own right and is properly entitled the City and County of Bristol.
A few miles from Bristol's centre, two motorways intersect. The M4 from London to South Wales bridges the River Severn before it widens to become the Bristol Channel. The North-South M5 skirts the city at Avonmouth.
The Bristol area is lucky enough to have the only ice skating rink in the area and the only aquarium in nearby Weston Super Mare although Blue Reef Aquarium is set to open later this year in Bristol, Bristol has the only hands on science experience centre here in the area and to top it all we now have our own “Wheel of Weston" the new jaw dropping Big wheel which has been erected on the seafront in Weston, add to this and there are numerous activities to enjoy including karting, shooting, indoor climbing, paragliding, ballooning, mini motor biking, Zoos, animal farms, indoor play areas, the seaside on the doorstep and to top it off we hold some of the best music festivals including the Glastonbury Festival in Somerset.
